 "BILL GOODWIN LECTURE |
. Bill Goodwin is the resident librarian at the world famous Magic Castle. While relatively unknown in the field, Bill is a star among magic’s cognoscenti, who highly respect him as an exponent, innovator and historian of sleight of hand magic. Possessing unique creative vision and an encyclopaedic knowledge of card sleights, Bill creates magic that is visually startling and direct, this aided by his superlative ability to handle the pasteboards. These talents have earned Bill an underground reputation as one of the greatest card magicians on the planet. Until recently, Bill’s material could only be found in rare periodicals and lecture notes. He has since emerged from the underground, publishing instructional videos showcasing some of his work, which have received critically acclaimed reviews. He has also co-authored one of the great close-up magic periodicals of recent years, Penumbra magazine. Flying down under for the first time, Bill has kindly offered to provide a one-off lecture sharing some of his work. With the exception of a few items, this session will predominantly focus on sleight of hand card magic, ranging from intermediate to advanced skill level. This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the top card men of our time. Hoerbi Kull hails from Switzerland where he offers a very special experience to people of all walks of life, enthralling them up-close with his moveing
and tangible magic performances. During his career , Hoerbi earned several national and international prizes. 1st Prize Street magician Competition in Bludenz(A) 1990 and in 1991 1st Prize Busker Festival Bamberg (D), Winner of the Bamberg Kleinkunst Prize 2000 2nd Prize Netherlands Magic Champuionship, category Street Magic. 2nd Prize Swiss Magic champuionships with the Duo Mira-Cool-X category Comedy Magic. 1996 and 2006 Hoerbi has lectured at Magic Conventions in Italy, France, Sweden, Germany, Austria, India, Sri Lanka and switzerland. He has had sevreal TV appearances and has entertained people on four continents and Australia will be the fifth. Hoerbi took over a magic shop, founded a public company and changed the shop's name to "Zauberladen Zuerich (Magic Shop)". He is the owner of many copyrights for ellini streetmagic items, including the book "The Royal Touch". Hoerbi is a teacher at Zauberschule Zuerich ( a magic School in Zurich. Hundreds of students have received their basic magic education there. Some of the students are now world famous, including FISM champion Pat Perry. Hoerbi was the organiser and teacher at the 1st Holidy Camp for Kidz, designed for young and older amateur magicians.
